A Year in IT: What We Learned, and a Holiday Thank You

As the year winds down and inboxes finally start to quiet, it’s a good time to pause and reflect — not just on what went right, but on what we all navigated together.
This past year brought no shortage of IT challenges. Cybersecurity threats kept evolving (and getting sneakier), remote and hybrid work continued to stretch networks in new ways, and many businesses faced tough decisions around aging hardware, software upgrades, and security expectations that never seem to slow down.
On top of that, IT has increasingly become mission-critical. Systems don’t just “support” the business anymore — they are the business. When technology hiccups, everything feels it.
But there was plenty of progress, too. We saw clients strengthen their security posture, modernize systems, clean up long-standing technical debt, and take proactive steps instead of reacting to emergencies. That’s always rewarding to be part of.

As we head into the holidays, we want to say thank you — for the trust you place in Vertechs, for the conversations, the planning sessions, and yes, even the occasional “something’s broken” call. It’s a privilege to help keep your businesses running.
We hope the next couple of weeks bring you some real downtime, fewer alerts, and more time spent away from screens. We’ll be here keeping an eye on things in the background — so you don’t have to.
From all of us at Vertechs, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. We look forward to working with you in the new year.
